Senior sessions in downtown Helena always carry a different kind of energy, and Reeders Alley is easily one of my favorite places to photograph during golden hour. The historic brick makes for a lovely texture and the narrow walkways give just enough space for the light to filter in softly between the buildings. This senior session at Reeder's Alley felt effortless from the start. We chatted about our favorite books and the Grand Street Theater here in town (it always surprises me just how busy, and how much these young adults accomplish in their high school years). We leaned into the warmth of golden hour — slow walks through the alley, natural movement, and moments that felt relaxed. The light here does something special late in the day, wrapping everything in warm tones that photograph beautifully and give the gallery a timeless feel.
We mixed in a few family photos along the way, which always adds another layer of meaning to sessions like this. Senior year is a milestone not just for one person, but for the people who helped get them there.
